So I guess it's time for a title change? 610 m ---> 600 m.

seems more and more Chinese cities are getting height restrictions. The supposedly highest building to be constructed in Beijing was cut from 500m+ to 200m+. Fine, the city planning bureaus have their reasons. But why whould they approve 610m for this tower in the first place? What an expensive mistake.

I love this tower. Saw a documentary about it and really was impressive.

Strange decision to lower it at this stage, but so be it

Hi all.

Nice before and after ...
So only the fourth section lowered in the end.
I know 10 meters is no biggie but lowering an already built structure is just wrong ... and 2000 feet is (was) a bitchin number ...

Still a great looking tower with a fantastic interior decor.

*Phew* Finally, the pilots can release their breath. That was nerve reckoning!
10 meters more air.

I have been quietly following the height discussion over many pages and finally feel I should contribute my humble opinion about it: 10 meters more or less - I just do not care. In my opinion this is one of the three most beautiful and most impressive buildings worldwide. The organic architecture of this tower is just mind-blowing, I cannot stop looking at it, sucking in the stunning structure with its millions of beautiful details, thanks to the many photos in this thread for which I am grateful to all contributors. Why should I care about 10 meters more or less? It is just a minor statistical detail with no impact on the beauty of this wonderful building.

But guessing from the discussion above I seem to belong to a minority here.
