It hits the south western part of China. The tremor was felt even in Beijing, Vietnam, thailand and Myanmar. So I think this area was affected as well.

Well, excuse me of course, but F**K THE TOWER, I hope they can save the most of the people who still are under the rubble in Sichuan.

Yeap I agree, The tower is ok as well as the other people in Ghuang Zhou. I just talked with my friend there and they are OK, the tower as well. Let's hope for a better weather condition for China to save most of the people under the rubbles...

As right now 12,000 kill and still counting, but back in 1976 a same 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit China kill 250,000 and 160,000 injured (keep in mind the epiccenter only 56 miles away from the capital of Sichuan, Chengdu - pop. 3,400,000.) I think China doing a very good job on improving earthquake safety.

What, ask everybody to stop working and go to Sichuan to see whether they can save lives?

The earthquake caused only a slight tremor in Guangzhou. It was not even felt at ground level.

I am totally agree with this. I am amazed that number of losses this many with a 7.9 magnitude earthquake. I felt a 6 magnitude only and it was crazy I cannot imagine a 7.9 especially when you think the measurement is logarithmic.

Amazing tower, it will be quite a view together with east and West towers.

Exactly what's funny about this proposition? Suppose they needed in Sichuan part of the machinery they are using for this tower, do you think they should keep on building the tower in order not to cause delays? Can't it possibly be that towers are tarnishing your brain a little?

I expect that if the equipment is needed it will be "requisitioned", I would be surprised if there wasn't a problem with too many people trying to help.

If only other governments would put 50,000 troops into a disaster area within the first 24hrs.
