yes, i reckon after they are painted , the ribbing will glisten and resemble the renders. because atm they wounlt reflect any sunlight,, so they appear dull in appearance.

Does the slimness of the tower vary from different angles you look at it? The first photo posted by foglio above show very wide width

Whereas from some angles, its thinner. The bird eye view of the tower bust be oval shape then

Yeap, because the TV Tower hasnt got a circular shape. Its elliptic.

i think the core is centrally located, its the outer shell ribbing structure which doesnt conform to be centre of design. goes in and out all the way up structure depending on where it reduces and flares out. quite ingenious design.
