yep, but I'm not too surprise how CITIC plaza is just swept off the top 10 tallest Building in the world in the blink of an eye.

Well, CITIC Plaza is one of the greatest "cheaters" in the world of supertalls. It was a matter of time to be out of the Top-10 list.

you mean the spire shouldn't count in the overall height? In that case not many skyscrapers will surpass by roof height, empire state building definitely has higher roof height than the citic plaza.

But lets drift back to the topic.

west tower is currently 383m, so only a few meters to go to surpass 391m spires of citic plaza.

I can't quite make of what that red thing in the middle of the tower is (last photo) its definately attached to the side of the core though.

the top turret section which has about 13 levels all have concrete floors, so they are still pouring the last few.looks like about 3 more to go.
