It is crazy because I call agents with NO MARKET KNOWLEDGE...

Just got to read this thread, it's sad that real estate agents who get shitloads of money resort to using our images for their own profit purposes... I don't know if anyone used my photos, but regardless, the fact that some people are willing to do such crap is depressing... In it for the quick buck, eh?

Thats the only reason why i wanted to watermark the photos on burjdubaiskyscraper.com. I know its not so nice visually that there is this "thing" on it, but this is the only way to at least try to stop them. In the last few days i have written emails to about 10 companies and sites that were using the photos on their sites with the watermark on the photos without credit to the creator and backlink to us, or any permission whatsoever. Plus the worst ones are cutting off the watermark from the photos, i saw sites that had our photos where you could see a tiny part of the watermark and the rest was simply ripped.. If i had a good lawyer it would be fun to sue them one by one.. Maybe if i get very pissed.

One of my former classmates works now for a real estate agent, and apparently they use it openly, according to what she said, her boss told her that why should they pay fees like 2,000+ dirhams per image when they can find it free on the web?

I think,you should put a watermark on your pics, at least we give them a small job,removing the watermark takes time

i dont understand why you guys dont want to put big fat unremovable watermarks in the middle of your pics.

yeah it sucks, but as a forumer id much rather prefer pics with these kinds of watermarks than reward people like Omaro's friend's boss

Big fat watermarks look horrible.

Imre has the best method of putting his name and a small black watermark in the corner of the image.

If any of the sites use his work and he has the original image file and it is copyrighted then the simple answer is to take out a private litigation against the company concerned.

It is easily done in most counties as copyright laws are global.

The company will want to settle before it even gets to court 99% of the time and can be very profitable for the photographer as an extra source of income.

It will only take a couple of cases to stop a company doing it. They do it now cause they know they can get away with it.

Even as recent photos of IMRE as 8th. of January, 2008 are freely being misused by this self glorified real estate agency of DUBAI.

BETTERHOMES not only erase Imre's watermark, but have the audacity of putting their own water mark before placing these photos on their website.

In this case, its in an advertisement (Ref AP76226) for a Studio in Lake Terrace offered in resale.

Better homes say "Betterhome....because no one understands property better" Hope they also understand their liability for their criminal act of plagiarism and theft!

maybe write them a letter charging 100D Dhs per photo, per week and make some money out of them!

I saw an add today from Ocean View Properties advertising a villa for sale. At one of the 2 covered parking of the villa, was parked a Betterhomes company car.
