Isn't the new year on January 26? What about the weeks before that date? Was Januray a complete holiday. I hope you answer my question because i don't know much about Chinese new year.

well a lot of builders wanted to go home for new year, and i think a lot of them are from Northern China. So by bus that can take quite a few days. IDK for sure though, its the only explanation logical to me, unless its on hold

the official holiday of this year is from 1.17 to 2.1,but depend on different firms and organizations there might be some change
I think they are supposed to go back to work now

That is because of the economic

South China( Hongkong + Guangzhou + Shenzhen + Macao) >
East China( Shanghai + Zhejiang + Jiangsu ) >
Northen China(Beijing + Tianjin ) >
South-West China (Sichuan, Guizhou, etc)
