This tower is my favorite. Is there any news? It's supposed to finish by 2010.

According to Emporis, it is under construction and construction ends on 2010. The problem is I could not find any pics.

Green design

Environmental design and architecture take a giant step forward with this building. My only wish is that SOM gets to do more of these projects in America. I know we need them.

Believe me they are trying. Only problem is there are fewer costumers in combined United States than in China or UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi). Plus, many costumers here have conservative in mind and bureaucracy is another issue. For example, take a look at the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco. SOM has a better render but they chosen the conservative Pelli.

This is a piece of Chinese news in July mentioning it's status: The holding company is inviting public bidding for the construction.

With the height of 309m/71 floors and its unique design and features, this will be another stunning tower like CCTV HQ, can't wait for its ground breaking.

The design of this building is just insane. When built this will be one of my favourites.

I like the design and concept very much! Very Inspiring indeed! I hope more building designs like this will be put up around the world! Incorporating sustainable energy with the design is the wave of the future!

Wow, now this is a very efficient way of energy..the building looks very thin, (from some angles) smooth, yet dominant
