I love how quickly this thread advances. Pretty soon we'll be at "The Windy City: Photos That'll Blow You Away III".

Chicago looks COLD.

Even though most of the buildings in downtown Chicago are impressive and very tall, from a distance they seem to appear much less imposing due to the fact that there are so many of them.

Do you mean colds as in uninviting, or cold as the weather? If you mean cold as the weather, it's definitely colder here in the winter than Sydney, but also much warmer than Sydney in the summer as well.

Great find. I like this one: http://static.flickr.com/107/2884296...g?v=1162649182

As the Streeterville area continues to become more and more dense (Avenue East, 500 St. Clair, 600 N. Fairbanks, Cityfront, Streeter, 560 N. Fairbanks, 600 N. LSD, Parkview West, etc.), the view south from the JHC will only become more spectacular.

An amazing photo interlay using Google Earth showing which areas of the city were affected by the Great Chicago Fire.

Amazing! One day that will simply be known as "downtown Chicago". (It already largely is.)

Please, UrbaanSophist, don't let downtown run over the lower scale charm of places like Lincoln Park, DePaul, etc.!!!
