I wish people would stop throwing so much hate at Trump, it's immature. I'm not much for Trump as a politician, but as a developer he's been nothing short of remarkable. So I wouldn't herald any shortcomings he had in LA as a success. Downtown LA sucks already, at least he could've done something revolutionary to help turn it around long ago.

His project would have replaced the old Ambassador Hotel in Koreatown, which was located about three miles west of DTLA. Whether or not his project was "revolutionary," it wouldn't have had much of an effect - if any - on our Downtown.

Trump isn't a developer. He puts his name on buildings and not much else. I mean if he was so revolutionary, all of his numerous proposals for the world's tallest buildings would've been built.

Btw this was his proposal for the Ambassador.

But sadly the savings and loans crisis killed that chance.

NFL Owners Approve Rams’ Return to Los Angeles
San Diego Chargers also given right to move and would share stadium in Inglewood; Raiders left out

After two decades without a team in the nation’s second largest media market, NFL owners voted Tuesday to move the St. Louis Rams back to the city they called home for nearly 50 years. NFL owners also gave the San Diego Chargers the right to join the Rams if the two franchises can work out a deal to share the planned stadium, or $100 million to help finance a stadium in San Diego.

The owners voted to approve a move by one of its wealthiest owners, Stan Kroenke, who controls one of the most valuable large parcels of undeveloped land in the Los Angeles region—site of the former Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood where the franchise plans to build a $2 billion stadium, and Alex Spanos, scion of the Chargers, who has owned his team for more than 30 years.

Dean Spanos, Alex’s son, said the deal allowed him to safeguard the future of the franchise and the options to continue negotiating with San Diego. “I’m going to look at all our options,” he said.

Left out in the cold was Mark Davis and the Oakland Raiders. One of the league’s lowest revenue clubs, the Raiders play in one of the league’s most antiquated stadiums. “We’ll see where Raider nation ends up here,” said Davis, whose franchise will get $100 million from the NFL toward building a new Northern California stadium, as a consolidation for losing on Los Angeles. “We’ll be working really hard to get us a home.”

“I think this is going to be one of the greatest complexes in the world,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said of the Inglewood proposal, which may include media studios and an expansive commercial development.

Price tag for Rams' Inglewood stadium in Los Angeles could reach $2.66 billion
Jan. 10, 2016 Updated Jan. 11, 2016 10:27 p.m.

The final price tag for a state-of-the-art stadium in Inglewood proposed by Rams owner Stan Kroenke could reach $2.66 billion, team officials have told NFL senior staff and league owners.

The stadium cost after financing is $800 million more than the previously reported cost for the stadium, and would make it the most expensive stadium ever built by more than $1 billion.

Whhhyyyy does it cost that much? Does it need to cost that much? These team owners are becoming disgustingly creedy with their stadiums.
