Also, that Tribune Media tower is absolutely fantastic and I hope they do not value-engineer it!
The stadium is relatively close to a future Metro rail line (just shy of two miles from the Crenshaw Line's Downtown Inglewood station), but Metro's Board of Directors is now looking into bringing a rail connection much closer to the venue in the form of a whole new line.

First look inside Hollywood’s Dream Hotel, opening in January

Hollywood’s Dream Hotel is gearing up for its opening, scheduled for January 2017, and we’re getting a quick peek at what’s to come. New photos offer a brief glimpse inside the 179-room hotel on Selma Avenue near Cahuenga Boulevard.

The location is Dream’s first West Coast outpost.

The 10-story hotel will have a double-height lobby, a 11,000-square-foot rooftop with a pool, and two onsite restaurants, including a wildly cool-looking outpost of Tao. The hotel will also have a cool pedestrian alleyway along the ground level that will help the hotel link up to surrounding eateries and attractions.

$1.3 billion terminal wing due at LAX

Airport commissioners authorized the use of $1.3 billion to cover the construction of a new wing of the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport, it was announced Friday.

The Board of Airport Commissioners this week approved the appropriation of the funds, which included a change order to increase the cost of the project by $355 million.

The concourse, which will be in a satellite location on the LAX airfield, will include 12 gates at the north end with enough room for wide- bodied aircrafts such as the Airbus 380 and Boeing’s 777 and 787 models.

There are plans in a future phase of the project to build seven gates at the south end of the satellite concourse.

Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza Development Moves Forward with Revisions

With the release of its final environmental impact report, minor revisions have emerged for the plan to redevelop the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza shopping mall with two million square feet of apartments, office space, hotel rooms and pedestrian-oriented shops and restaurants.
The proposed office building, slated for the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and 39th Street, is now planned as a 10-story, 135-foot structure with slightly over 143,000 square feet of leasable floor area. The height has been trimmed from the original 145-foot plan through an increase in floor-to-ceiling heights.

The hotel, originally a 12-story structure, has been cut to approximately 10 floors. The number of proposed guest rooms remains unchanged at a maximum of 400.

In addition to the hotel and office buildings, Capri's development would create 551 condominiums, 410 apartments, 7,000 structured parking stalls and approximately 332,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

West Hollywood's 8899 Beverly Survives Legal Challenge

The Park La Brea News reports that a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge has rejected an appeal by the West Hollywood Residents Association (WHWRA) seeking to overturn approvals for the adaptive reuse project at 8899 Beverly Boulevard. Developer Townscape Partners intends to convert the 10-story building into 76 residential units - 15 of which would be set aside as affordable housing. Plans also call for building nine townhomes north of the building, along Rosewood Avenue, in addition to outdoor amenity space.

Townscape has agreed to a public benefits package which includes a $2.2 million contribution to fund West Hollywood's Design District Streetscape Plan and $1.1 million to construct a pocket park on Beverly Boulevard.

They've cleaned up the edges of the Broadway trade center. The rooftop itself still needs a bit of work.

The scale of the 10 story section isn't given justice in the photos. It's rather imposing. It changes the atmosphere around Ace entirely. It makes that part of town seem a lot more closed in and dense, I love it.

Nintendo-themed lands coming to Universal Studios Hollywood and parks in Florida and Japan

In Los Angeles, the announcement of a new Nintendo area represents the latest big-dollar investment in Universal Studios Hollywood to help compete with its top rival, Disneyland.

Universal Studios Hollywood launched its biggest and most expensive expansion project to date last year when it opened its six-acre Wizarding World of Harry Potter at a cost of about $500 million. That followed the opening in 2012 of Transformers: the Ride 3D, followed in 2014 by the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride and Super Silly Fun Land.

The park opened Fast and Furious: Supercharged in 2015 as well as Springfield, a city block of eateries inspired by the fictional town in the TV show “The Simpsons.”

This summer, Universal Studios Hollywood opened a permanent haunted maze based on the AMC series “The Walking Dead.”

City Council settles on a route for the Downtown Streetcar

Plans for a new streetcar system servicing Downtown Los Angeles keep chugging right along, with the LA City Council unanimously certifying the project’s environmental impact report at its Tuesday meeting.

The council also agreed on a route for the streetcar, which will travel in a one-way loop that begins at 1st and Broadway and proceeds south to 11th Street, where it turns west until Figueroa; it then heads north up to 7th, where it heads back east before one final northward climb along Hill Street. Another proposed route would have taken the car along 9th instead of 7th Street.

Newport Beach moves forward with 25-story Museum House luxury condos

The 25-story, 100-unit Museum House luxury condominium project slated to replace the Orange County Museum of Art cleared the City Council before a standing-room-only crowd evenly divided between supporters and opponents.

In the end, the council voted 6-1 to approve the project – which would one of the tallest buildings in Orange County.

Developer Related California plans to build the 295-foot-tall structure on the two-acre site of the Orange County Museum of Art at 850 San Clemente Drive. The art museum is selling the land to Related California to help finance its move near the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.
