I just cycled to exit Abcoude to have a look. I couldn't see the accident, but I could see a long jam (southbound) and three red crosses on all overhead signs. The jam is currently 15 kms. Traffic in Abcoude is also gridlocked.

Because it was not built to freeway standards. Even with the huge expansion planned for the next decade there will still be a maximum speed of 70km/h and it will still be just an 'autoweg'.

Due to the A2 accident, there is now 142 kilometers of backup in this region spread out over several motorways and other roads. The detourroute (A1/A27) has 32 kilometer traffic jam northbound and 22 kilometers southbound.

What a disaster, and this isn't even rushhour.

Indeed, the funeral of a classmate

An eyewitness has said that a truck suddenly went to the right to exit the motorway, so the first bus had to brake down suddenly, and the two coaches behind collided because of this.

Actually, a truck had to take the exit and braked, so the truck behind that one braked, and the three buses crashed into that second truck.

That's the street name of the road that runs over the viaduct. "Des Tombe" is probably a name of some person important to that region.

In English, it would've been "Des Tombe Road", but we write that stuff in one word in Dutch "Des Tomberoad". You'll see many errors in grammar when words are split up in two or sometimes three words when it should've been one word.

Yeah, AFAIK that road is called the "Burgemeester des Tombeweg", named after a former major called des Tombe

^ Nah it's the new A6 bridge connected to A1. Between Almere/Amsterdam. That highway was closed for a long time ( for trucks ).

I have more pics. Ill post them later

That's another bridge. The one on the picture is the A1 bridge over the Amsterdam-Rhine channel, which is indeed between Almere and Amsterdam, but not on the A6. This couldn't possibly be the A6, since it isn't connected to the A9 (unfortunately), see?
