AFAIK he doesn't believe in Global Warming, so his leadership might be positive for road construction. On the other hand, in my opinion it would be the only thing positive about his leadership. I fear the worst if he would win next elections.

I have no idea... and I didn't mean I support him, I don't understand the underlying appeal he has, yet. Hopefully in a couple years I'll get a grip.

Nonono, I didn't mean to say you supported him, but I'm just wondering, as he goes on and on about Muslims/Islam in the Netherlands, but I dont think taking away all the muslims will solve our traffic problems, so I was wondering what his standings on infrastructure where, I do know he is against Kilometerheffing...

Hmm, mostly populism I guess. I don't expect too much from it, and it looks like he won't be in any cabinet. Most political parties do not want to form a coalition with him, the so-called "cordon sanitaire".

The cabinet is still moving towards the abyss, the chance of a collapse is quite big at this moment. I don't know what the effect on road projects would be. The average road project takes at least 3 cabinets to get it to pass and advance through procedures, so the 4th cabinet (if they're all in office for 4 years each) is usually the one where the road project is executed.

No, it's not OK. With almost the same money you can build 2x2 road without hard shoulder which would be definitelly much better than this.

Indeed better, but not safer. Safety should be a very important issue, but one should not overdo it, like sometimes happens over here.

Is the acces-controled 100 km/h part of the N230 north of Utrecht unsafe ? No.
So please stop complaining about safety.
It's time Dutch roadpolicy needs a change from safety towards traffic flow and driving comfort.

Yeah, well, HUGE BLOCK LETTERS THAT SAY 100 KM/H on the pavement is hard to comprehend for a lot of people.

How is the bus supposed to get on the bus line? Break the law? Or is it allowed for buses to drive over a continuos line to get on a bus lane in the Netherlands?

There is a bus stop there. To prevent other traffic from accessing it, they made the marking continuous.

This bus stop serves an area with scattered farms between Emmeloord and Ens. Some students who live outside Emmeloord use it to get to school in Kampen or Zwolle.

There is a former alignment visible of A50 just north of Apeldoorn. On location, an embankment is visible here.

I projected a further possible alignment which may have been planned during the 1950's and early 1960's.

Note that Apeldoorn was a much smaller city in the 1950's, and A50 jumps east south of Apeldoorn, which implies a possible direct north-south alignment may have been planned earlier, with a possible route through Apeldoorn. However, inside Apeldoorn, no former alignments can be found.

A50 was eventually constructed during the late 1960's and early 1970's across it's current alignment a few kilometers further east.

north is right:

Possible alignments. However, this is just conjecture.

Unused bridge and former double carriageway alignment of A50 south of Apeldoorn. It was possible that A50 was meant to run north (right) here along the west side of Apeldoorn.

Guys - where can I get the new Dutch signage spec?
I followed the link to www.rijkswaterstaat.nl posted by Chris some time ago but the PDF is no longer there (pagina niet gevonden).

Can you suggest key words in Dutch to search the site?
Or maybe one of you has the document to hand already?

Dank u wel!

Is there anything more in-depth and technical?
I am looking for this level of detail.

He only wants to send all violent, radical or criminal muslims out.
Saying that wilders wants to send all muslims out is the most frequently used weapon against him. left politicians want the dutch to be afraid of wilders.
