Yeah, some proposed skyscrapers on Zuidas are still on hold, their land plots fenced out and no signs of major construction.

A truck crashed through the crash barrier and through a fence on A4 in Amsterdam, and ended up on the railway from Amsterdam to Schiphol.

Luckily no train has been hit. Those are very busy tracks and a tragedy could have happened.

N33 Assen - Zuidbroek

There's a weekend closure of N33 between Veendam and the Zuidbroek motorway interchange with A7 this weekend. The N33 twinning will likely be completed by Monday. The last connector at the Assen motorway interchange (A28/N33) will open to traffic on 17 July.

A strange traffic signal in Heerhugowaard. The center lane is for both left and right, but reportedly they don't always get green at the same time, so if you're in the center lane and want to make a right turn, it could happen that the right turn lane may go, but the center lane may not.

The only similar set-up I can recall seeing anywhere is this junction in Huddersfield, where there is a single lane approaching the lights but a left turn filter which comes on for a significant amount of time before the main green. Most traffic turns left here but you often get someone turning right who blocks it, sometimes waiting as far to the right as possible whilst narrow enough vehicles squeeze past turning left. There are long queues here at peak times.

That looks so weird and confusing. Why not just use a double traffic light like they're used in more placed, but just with two arrows.

N331, Boxem Tunnel, Zwolle

A new tunnel is under construction along N331 north of Zwolle. At 160 meters, it is the longest tunnel in the area.

One thing is frustrated drivers:

If the waiting line is as follows: Left Right Left Right
And only left is allowed to pass, then the second left will be frustrated because of the stil waiting car wanting to go Right.

Montreal, Canada has one on an exit ramp of the Ville-Marie Expressway:

https://www.google.pl/maps/@45.49600...WmtGKgh56w!2e0

You can see how they use two pairs of traffic light assemblies, despite the three lanes, where right turn can be made but left must not. The road was constructed ca. 1980. I am not sure why they did not simply provide 4 lanes here, there, the grass is the road ROW and the parking lot on both sides, is owned by the city.

Even more curiously, the cross-road to the left, is one-way only. So there is no traffic that the right-turn movement must yield to, yet right turn traffic must stop at the red light when it is activated. There is pedestrian traffic, but not very much.

N33 Assen - Zuidbroek

The Zuidbroek motorway interchange opened to traffic this morning. The N33 intersects with A7 here. It's a clover turbine interchange, with a turbine connector from south to west (Veendam > Groningen).

A6/A7 Knooppunt Joure

The Joure motorway interchange (A6/A7) that will be replaced by a direct connector interchange in the next few years. It is the last remaining at-grade motorway-to-motorway interchange (though one could qualify Julianaplein for that as well). The Leenderheide & Hooipolder interchanges are partially at-grade.

Future interchange:

A2 's-Hertogenbosch - Eindhoven 2x3

However, the Council of State could annul the EIS, but it seems unlikely they will actually close the new lanes. They could repair the environmental impact statement.
An interesting turn of events with the completed widening of A2 between 's-Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven.

An EIS was published in 2011 for the widening of A2 from 2x2 to 2x3 lanes between 's-Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven. It was found that the widening could impact a natura 2000 area. They decided to mitigate that by enlarging the habitat.
However, the European Court of Justice said that this measure would not mitigate the loss of habitat sufficiently, making the widening potentially illegal.

But the interesting part is that new calculations and measures show that nitrogen deposits are structurally lower than in 2011, and therefor any mitigation to reduce impact on the natura 2000 area is unnecessary, thereby entirely bypassing the European Court of Justice verdict, making it irrelevant.

Well, sir, there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car monorail!
