Nice. I'll try to make something like that of cityring Arnhem if I found out how I can figure the camera without falling off in every curve.

You need a stable base, not some kind of higher thing on your dashboard. Myself, i have a flat area at the dashboard near the windshield, so I push my camera against the windshield, so it won't slip away at every corner. However, I do take roundabout easy, otherwise it would surely slip away.

I have a Manfrotto mount and that works fine and stable even at high speeds.

As promised, some pics of the A2/A12 from Abcoude to Utrecht, Arnhem and the German border. The pics have been made on friday afternoon, so the first part existed of slow driving. Quality isn't that high, the window was quite dirty again.

A2 - traffic jams (dutch driving)

Temporary ones, they use those with roadworks if directions need to be separated on one roadway.

Yup, if you watch the webcam long enough you'll eventually see me passing by on that viaduct over the A2 in the background.

Welcome to the Netherlands, the country with the lowest speed limits:

This is the end of the A79, right? I drove there once, but I remembered traffic flowing with at least 70-80km/h.

Btw, geluidshinder = noice annoyance.

There was some very wide, straight road in my town with a speed limit of 30. Everyone was driving there with 60-70. Last year the road was narrowed, but still they drive 60 over there. It doesn't make any sense.

That term usually is used to describe NEW road construction- not widening.

And the Netherlands is basically paved over now. Its freeway network is the most dense in all of Europe.

And so it the population.

The freeway network is actually not that bad, I don't think many kilometers of new freeways are needed in the Netherlands, but the major problem is that the freeways lack capacity. Even in urban area's, there are many 2x2 bottlenecks, and traffic can occur at any time of the day.

The difference between the US and Netherlands is that US cities are large, but outside of the urban areas, population density is low. In the Netherlands, there are villages, towns, and cities all over, resulting in a relatively high population density in rural areas. That also causes high traffic volumes, 70,000 - 100,000 vehicles a day on rural freeways with 2x2 lanes are not uncommon. You don't see that in the United States, where rural volumes are usually in the 20,000 - 40,000 range.

Actually, most of the traffic jams can be seen in rural areas.

However, the Dutch national and provincial road network still consist of dike roads, and narrow rural roads, that travel through towns every 4 miles, making people have no other option but to take the freeway, even for short distances. I once travelled from Zwolle to Amersfoort not using the freeway, a distance of about 45 miles, which took me 1 hour and 45 minutes, giving an extremely low average speed.
