N279 's-Hertogenbosch - Veghel

The new grade-separated interchange 'De Brand' of N279 opened to traffic on 2 September 2017. This eliminated the last set of traffic lights on N279 between A2 and A50. The interchange serves the industrial area 'De Brand' on the outskirts of the city of 's-Hertogenbosch.

The grade-separated interchange was originally not planned as a part of the N279 twinning and grade-separation. It was added later as a wish of the 's-Hertogenbosch municipality. The interchange was constructed in less than a year.

I couldn't find a recent photo. This is a render:

One of the fiew left-handed turnoff's? Are there more in the Netherlands, I can only think of a semi-left turn on the Eindhoven Ring (and a former one there as well)..

Isn't that more of a weave then a left-exit? I can think of more of these situations as they are common.

I'm my opinion not, because it has a mirrored 'UIT'-sign. But on the other side, it is part of a weave section.

N302

A new construction method was used for a roundabout on N302 in Gelderland province; a prefabricated roundabout. It was built in just one weekend. There was no roundabout Friday, but traffic drove on the new roundabout on Monday.

The roundabout provides access to the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo.

It was built by KWS. It consists of concrete elements installed over the weekend.

N31 Leeuwarden

The old N31 at Deinum has been demolished. The N31 was rerouted one kilometer to the east on a four lane expressway as part of the Leeuwarden Bypass.

A6/A7 Knooppunt Joure

It is planned that the new Joure motorway interchange will open in phases from 5-14 October. There was an open day today, so the public could view the construction site.

Quite frankly it's not very believable that it will be completed in two weeks. Bridges are uncompleted, complete carriageways have yet to be built, there are still roads running across the motorway, there is virtually nothing done on guardrails, drainage and signage. It looks more like 4+ months of work than 1-2 weeks. But who knows?

The new flyovers. Uncompleted. There are no guardrails or side protection yet.

New A6 on the left. It still needs some grading, all paving has yet to be done and only one half of the new interchange bridge serving the town of Joure is built.

Only the westernmost section of the new A7 alignment is complete (a few hundred meters)

They dumped a ridiculous amount of sand in the middle of the roundabout. If the soil is soft, it could displace the whole road! It happened last year on N232 where a sand dump pushed away the entire road by several meters.

Did they want to set a record for the country's highest peak?

I think it's pretty close to the highest point on mainland Friesland. The Bosberg is 26 meter high. This one may be just below that. Maybe it'll influence the local weather

"Mount Joure" could be a popular skiing destination, now with improved road connections

I left Joure via the roundabout, it was completely jammed. Groningen > Lelystad traffic is so dense that traffic from Joure and A7 have a hard time finding a gap in traffic to enter the roundabout. The result is a long queue which blocks the smaller roundabout in Joure, which then results in a queue for traffic coming from the motorway roundabout as well. So there is a traffic jam in both directions. It took me 15 minutes to enter the roundabout.

It's been a mess for a while. We actually turned down a house in Joure because I couldn't face that roundabout every day. Glad to see they are sorting it out. It didn't help with half the people tourists scared of the roundabout, or lost, and driving slowly around, and the other half driving as quickly as they could. It made judging when to join the roundabout very, very difficult.

I passed through there (going Groningen to A'dam via Flevoland) on my first day of driving in Europe. A July Saturday afternoon. I don't remember being traumatized by it....

That's the easy direction and by far the most used one, but the heavy flow of traffic from Groningen to Lelystad / Amsterdam makes it difficult to get onto the roundabout from Joure and Sneek. The longest delays are on the branches with the lowest volumes.
