^Well we could build big eyesores like the US does. Australia shares a similar timezone to that of Asia and thus would be a good alternative to having the games in China. Despite our "barely 40k stadiums and ovals", we have as good chance if not better than most.

Holland/Belgium deserve to host the WC 2018!
Holland never hosted a big tournament like this before.
After 2 lost WC Finals, 2 semi and 2 quarter finals on WC appearances, the invention of Total Football (attacking Football) and all the great players they brought, it would be the crown on their work so far.
Besides that, there have been countries hosting a WC, who never have been that successful in Football or important as The Netherlands are.
There for WC 2018 to Holland/Belgium! .

Not sure if its TOO close, but its a lot closer than other bidding nations. Might not be the ONLY factor but it will be A factor in the decision. Same goes for Spain, to a lesser extent, but they have addressed the issue by incorporating Portugal into the bid.

If it comes down to Aus vrs USA for 22 then i think it'll be decided on how greedy/needy FIFA is for cash from that event. Aus probably deserve it more but US will generate more cash. I don't think stadia etc will play a big part in the decision, both can clearly get the job done.

It has to be somewhere in Europe. 3 WCs outside Europe would be too much.

My opinion.
If England gets the World Cup, all European countries won't get the World Cup in 2022.
Also a South American country African country won't get it (South Africa 2010 & Brazil 2014). So it will be a Azian, Oceanic or Northern Amrican Country.
So I hope it will be a Oceanic country will get it, probably Australia and they would deserve it.

But it is beneficial for the game. Look what it did for the US after 94.

No, three outside of Europe would be stretching it. It's all very well spreading the game around, but the powerbase is still very much in Europe and ignoring the core fanbase for too long a period may not be benificial for the game. It used to be pretty much every other world cup in Europe. Every third world cup in Europe is the correct balance now.

how is expanding into new markets beneficial for the game? Espeically when those new markets just pump more unecessary money into the game that further distorts it (I'm looking at you ASIA). Football would be fine and make loads of money with just Europe, South america and africa tbf.

If the expansion lead to people watching their own f*cking league and pumping money and support into their own game then fair enough, but football can do without Barry Barstool in Bangkok thankyou very much!

I said powerbase, not fanbase. There are no clubs or leagues in Asia that can begin to compete with the top ones in Europe and South America.

Expand and get more people interested in football and make more money.

Simple.

I actully can't think of a better host.
The best stadiums?

As I've said before, FIFA doesn't care about capacity as long as their minimum demands are met. They also harp on about 'legacy' so would much rather have the World Cup in stadiums that were going to be used for Football after the tournament, not converted NFL stadiums with the front rows missing to fit in a football pitch.

The most people will see it? The population of Europe is 700 million, a World Cup in the USA makes it difficult for those 700 million to view the tournament on TV, which is something FIFA is definitely more concerned about then how many people are in the stadium. It makes it even more difficult for the Asian market, which is massive in terms of TV.

Expanding into new markets is all well and good, but it's also important to remember where the game has come from by still hosting World Cups in Europe. It's where the best teams and the best players are, so to keep having World Cups in countries where people love football but are only concerned with watching Liverpool and Manchester United on TV is ridiculous. That's something we really don't need, more people for Richard Scudamore to harp on about 'the greatest league in the world' and to try and exploit whilst screwing over fans in England at every opportunity.
