Ticketing is an area where bidders must look into for how to improve service. Every time there's always controversy, from no-shows to service breakdowns. Here we are in 2010 and these same problems persist. Does the way seat sales are categorised very flawed?

Any projections beyond 2022 are pointless. Who can honestly predict what shape countries will be in in 20 years time? There may be an obvious choice in 15 years time that seems absurd now.

Disagree 100%, I dug through my archive and found this from my post in '88:

1992 - Kiev (USSR)
1996 - Belgrade (Yugoslavia)
2000 - Baghdad (Iraq)
2004 - Harare (Zimbabwe)
2008 - New Orleans (USA)

yes I know this is a long term prediction, but I have made assumptions on regime change, civil war, invasion, economic collapse and even hurricanes, and am sure this list will happen

Something along those lines.

IMO USA, Japan, Korea should not get a world cup for the next 30 yrs at least.

I would love Russia to have it in 2018 and either of Australia or some country in the MENA to host it in 2022.

The attention the US' performance got in the 2010 WC will definetely be somewhat of a boost to their bid. My current predictions:

2018 - Russia
2022 - U.S.
2026 - China
2030 - England

Isn't it sad that Matt Lowry created a trend in this forum?

FIFA Begin Investigation Into Australia World Cup 2022 Bid After Bribery Claim

FIFA has begun an investigation into the Australia World Cup 2022 bid after allegations of bribery emerged.

Newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald had reported that offers of jewellry had been made to the wives of the football governing body's voters and an executive committee member was offered an all-expenses trip.

FIFA has reacted quickly to the news and a spokesman confirmed "it is looking into this matter." The Australian team has denied any improper behaviour and stated they stayed within the ethics rules laid down by the organisation.

FIFA says World Cup bidders can give gifts of "symbolic or incidental value and that exclude any influence on a decision in relation to the bidding process." The ruling executive will choose the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosts in December, where Australia will hope to fight of competiton from countries including Qatar, the USA and South Korea.

I bet this made your day

This would be common among all the bids as this is how FIFA politics works. The IOC cleaned up their act after the Salt Lake City issues and hopefully FIFA change their ways too. It is more of a reflection on FIFA than the bidders as this is how their bidding process works, with lots of hands in the pot unfortunately.
