The Daily Fail has damaged England's bid far more than it's damaged any of its rivals becuase of the Triesman sting.

It's not a paper many here take seriously and nor should you

When it's damaging own bid, it's intenal deal. But when it's trying to blackmail other bid, it's already a part of external work of UK media. And they are speculating not one time already.

And UK is working this way during centuries, nothing new.

Don't start this nonsense again guys. It's an opinion piece in one of our worst newspapers, not the voice of the UK (although I happen to think, despite its snide tone, a couple of the issues it's raised are pertinent, but last time they were raised the thread was locked so I won't try again).

The Telegraph, in its Russian mini-site has a very positive article about why FIFA should choose Russia:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sponsored...ng-Russia.html

And a positive report from the BBC on Russia 2018:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11010364

The UK press has a number of opinions, and of course it will mainly back our bid and sometimes won't be too balanced about doing so. But that's the way things are.

It's called free speech - something that we, in Britain, cherish. This article is not a media agenda. It's just one man's opinion (and he does make some salient points, whether you care to admit it or not).

Journalists in the British media are, variously, as uncompromisingly critical of Britain; the people of Britain; the government of Britain; the English FA; England football fans; English footballers; the England team; the England manager; and the English FA's bid for World Cup 2018 as they are of anything else, foreign or domestic.

So stop being so paranoid and believing that Russia is being singled out.

It's pathetic. And boring. Grow up. Please.

Oh do pipe down, you tedious troll. Why do you always have to try to turn this discussion into a political slanging match?

Hasn't Mo Rush warned you enough times? What is it that you find so hard to understand?

Just to get back on topic, it's worth noting that England now has more than 2 million signatures in support of their bid:

http://www.england2018bid.com/news/3...upporters.aspx

Not that it's a competition or anything (wait....hang on, it is!), but our American friends proudly announced they'd hit 1 million supporters five days later:

http://www.gousabid.com/blog/entry/one-million-strong/

How are other bids doing in terms of building support for their campaigns?

Biggest majority supports bid in every country. So its already a technical question how to collect votes. I think it's a little bit senseless, and number doesn't have influence on FIFA members.

I don't know how you claim to know that to be a fact since all of the bids seem to be doing something like this to garner support. The bid teams of England, the USA and indeed Russia who are also asking for support via their website seem to think it's worth doing. If nothing else, it demonstrates support in a way which is much better than a simple survey (which depends on how and what questions are asked of course).

On the topic of showing support, I wonder whether anything will be happening at Wembley tonight in relation to the bid.

if the world cup was anything to go by, we'll be showing how important hosting will be to our chances of playing in 2018.

All your bids suck equally. Can we now move on please?

RobH and AILD can you please list each venue along with the cost for the upgrade or planned cost of the venue?

They didn't. That's why I find this article weird.

I don't know . But I want that I gain the candidacy of Russia because I believe that they her have worked very much and that it is excellent. The candidacy of Spain and Portugal isn't much known in Spain, that is to say, that many people don't know that it exists. Also it isn't very worked.
