@_X_, The postponement of the Qatar v Haiti match ? NOT VALID,
this has no relation to our discussion, Infact, it was done for the benefit of a more important match Brazil vs Argentina, which infact drew a 50K crowd, Qatar pulled off a win of its own by hosting the world’s top teams at a venue where former World Player of the Year Zinedine Zidane, long-serving Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and tennis legend John McEnroe were part of the crowd in the stands.

The USA bid should not be ruled out.
http://fr.fifa.com/mm/document/tourn.../55/b8usae.pdf

The only risk is the legal risk. In the final presentation Bill Clinton (with probably another political celebrity) could reassure FIFA ex-commitee about guarantees and congress resolution. Landon Donovan will also be in Zurich.

The country is also vast.
Nethertheless, the country has enough capacities to host a WC.

Have you heard anything more on the challenge to the Qatari vote?

Keep reading suggestions that Blazer is pushing it to be kicked, and now that even Sepp may support the move, but nothing firm and concrete

So after Dec 2nd, what will the Exec Committee do for the next 8 years?

And come 2018, will they again do a 2-for-1? Or was that just plain idiotic?

I think Australia 2022 may provide more revenues to fifa than USA 2022.....as by 2022 three of the top five economies(china,India, japan) will be in Asia....... which means more TV revenues to fifa

We've been saying that for some time. With 75% of the globe in our timezone it represents incredible power for FIFAs sponsors, many who are Asian. And with the spiralling growth of the middle classes in these massive dynamic economies FIFA will become increasingly reliant on the income the Asia will offer.Eventually every 3rd World Cup will be played in Asia,as it matures, just because of its wealth

That guy was on the field for two minutes. I know Qatar isn't a violent country and that he was harmless, but a mean spirited person would've had ample time to stab someone in two minutes.

That has to be addressed.

The American and Japanese bids have strength in that fact that all cities will be single-venue cities. Qatar's silly suburb solution is in name only, and either Sydney or Melbourne is going to end up with a double in Australia, possibly both if they go the "West Sydney" route.

No, When I saw the report for Qatar, i see that everything i said on this forum was correct, that they went for a 7 City bid, and that AlRayyan has 4 stadiums (Doha has 3 stadiums) and many other things a I stated. Which put a smile on my face for some time .

ENGLAND & AUSTRALIA BID SUFFERS DUE TO UNYIELDING SPORTS EVENTS CLASHES

Shadow over World Cup bids Source: AFP

GENEVA: England and Australia's bids to host football's World Cup in 2018 and 2022 may suffer from clashes with local sports events, including tennis at Wimbledon and Australian rugby league, FIFA indicated.

“It is a FIFA requirement that no other major sporting event is hosted in a Host City during the period and the fact that the Wimbledon tennis championships take place in London during late June/early July could have an impact on the public attention given to the FIFA World Cup,” the evaluation report said.

FIFA's evaluation of Australia signalled a clash with the National Rugby League season and Australian rules football from March to September, affecting both public attention and available resources, as well as a potential third impact.

Questions were raised over the distance between Australian venues and the reliance on air transport, as well as the risk of a loss in TV income from Europe and the Americas because of the time difference.

Future dates for football's month-long showpiece event have not been set but they have typically straddled June into July when it has been hosted by European countries. — AFP
