I hope common sense prevails and Qatar lose in the first round. If they do win it would be the worst world cup ever. 12 large stadiums, pretty much all in the same city, population of around 800,000, very few fans would travel over, unbearable heat, etc... whoever votes for them should be kicked out by FIFA straight away is the only reason could be that they were bribed.

More important question is why there is no outrage about the fact that FIFA is one of the most corrupt organizations out there. And instead of dealing with this problem FIFA gets pissed off at the English bid which has no relation whatsoever with the BBC.

After seeing I wonder just what effect it will have.

Whats your impression Rob on how people are viewing it in England?

You have got to be shitting me.
Qatar may have the most that a soley football "Specific". All the proposed WC venues from all the bids will be WC quality so to many an extent "Better" is purely subjective. Australia hasn't even designed numerous venues so no one knows how spectacular they will be.

In regards to post-worldcup adequacy you clearly must be blind. The USA populous already uses all their massive stadia and sell them out for most if not all of the NFL season. Soccer exhibition games and internationals pull massive crowds in them every year. Australia builds to its multisport needs with Rugby and AFL in the Winter and Soccer played during the southern Summer. Most of our venues exist and have successful tenants, "the build it and they will come" notion does exist down here, we build to what is already required.

In no way does Qatar compare to the USA or Australia in the post-worldcup adequacy of its venues. As clearly shown time and time again in Qatari domestic and national attendance. Qatar certainly does not need 8 20000 seat stadiums, 1 50 000 seat athletics stadium and an 88000 seat national stadium.

Just watched the Panorama episode. Troubling stuff, it will get messier before it gets better as they is no sign of an independant review of FIFA and its books.

I Have a question.

Jennings mentioned (in an interview for ESPN Brasil, August) corruption on the London 2012 bid regarding consultors who worked for ISL.

Did he mentioned that before London winning the vote to host the Olympics? If he did, that didn't affect London's bid - he investigates the IOC the same way he does for FIFA.

There is a very interesting quote from Charles Sale's article today in the Daily Mail:

"If the World Cup goes to Russia in 2018 followed by Qatar in 2022, the fall-out for FIFA would be immense. It is expected to include a challenge to FIFA's authority as world football's governing body. Already there is talk of a breakaway International Football Federation being formed in similar fashion to the G14 opposition to UEFA before the rebel clubs were brought into the fold."

The full article can be read here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...-big-vote.html

Any thoughts?

This is an attempt to inspire the world the following opinion: "In a fair struggle English bid should win. If Russia will win, it is only because of corruption FIFA".

In the best traditions of Soviet/Nazi propaganda.
