Maybe true but I don't think anyone can argue that Russia didn't also have a very good bid. They deserve it. They've never hosted before and in fact, as they pointed out in their presentation, eastern Europe has never hosted before.

Dont exagerrate with Russia. It is big country, that deserved to host WC for it's football tradition and results, both with USSR and Russia, as like as Netherlands, three times finalists, great fans, great infrastructure.

On the other hand, Qatar. This is embarrassment that FIFA will never recover of. Every law in normal world says there was bribe included. Nothing else could made voters to vote for this country but huge, thick envelopes. I do not have anything against Qatar, but I do have against leaders of that country, that used their money to get WC. If money didnt played any role today, Croatia could get it. It is 5 times bigger than Qatar, 4 times more people. Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Greece, Armenia, Bangladesh, Laos, North Korea, New Zealand, Bolivia... but this!?!?"?!=!?="!*?#=(!

And I want to congratule to Russia. And I sure cant congratulate Qatar.

Russia certainly deserve it, so well done to them, but by the same token I sincerely hope that we have investigative journalists crawling all over FIFA now we've got absolutely nothing to lose. This is the silver lining we MUST see happening after our defeat. The organisation is in need of total overhaul (and my posting history shows I'm not just saying this because England didn't win).

So true, so true. They followed the money, that is clear. It is nice for the real fans in these countries, but with the "overwhelming" population in Qatar the actual number will be dramatically low.

The thing is, I would like to congratulate Russia but for two reasons:

1.The fact Qatar have also won a vote by the same bunch of cretins, it devalues Russia's win for me.

2. Aleksey whateverhisnameis.

FIFA stink.

This surely is the end of world football as we know it.
