Even if the Philippines miraculously become super rich in the future, I doubt if such football events let alone the World Cup would even see their chances of getting hosted here. 97% of the people I know here did not even knew that World Cup 2006 culminated 2 weeks ago, Pinoys are not into football and I'm pissed off because of that.

It took 108 years for Athens to rehost the Olympics.

England may have invented the game but this does not give them a right to hold it every couple of world cups.

Well, technically, it took 98 years, if you count the 1906 Intercalated Games but anyway, that's beside the point. Many many countries can host an Olympics, even these days, becasue, although it does cost a fair bit, it does not involve half as much work as a World Cup. I mean, for an Olympics, you might have to build one stadium, and a couple of other facilities such as an Aquatics centre and a veledrome, and the whole event takes place in one city, so you only really have to build up the infastructre in one place....which means plenty of countries around the world have been able to host it, which is why Athens didn't have the Olympics for quite a while.

But the WC is quite a select event, and there arn't that many countries that can host one on their own, especially these days, when you have to have 10-12 high quality, high capacity stadiums in about 9 or 10 different cities, including all the infatsructure that goes with it.

Come one man, don't be pedantic about this, no-one would ever suggest this, and no-one from England would ever expect this, but the point is that all the other big European nations- Germany, Italy and France- have all hosted the WC two times, and Spain has hosted it more recently then England....no-one is claiming that just becasue England gave the world the game that they should automatically host the WC, it should obviously go down to whoever has the best bid (which I think England will have), but nevertheless, it is still a factor to consider when taking into account a bid from England.

And lets face it, if any other country had invented the game, they'd be preaching the same thing, and you know it. We, as a small nation, are proud that so many of the world's biggest sports were invented on our soil, so naturally we would like to see the biggest tournaments come home again!

Friends,

I'm member at an international olympic forum, and there are held fantasy games. A fantasy bidbook on WC 2018 is been held. I'v decided to compete with 'Turkey 2018'.

I wanted to share with you.

1- online PDF - ADOBE READER LINK (it's slow but it certainly opens. if your computer is slow, it can take between 5-10 minutes maybe. Don't close the link. the page wil certainly open itself.
==>> http://www.freewebs.com/turkisheurov...Turkey2018.pdf

2- for those ones who still have problems, you can download it from the link beneath that I gave. (right bottom corner click on 'free'. wait for the seconds. write the 3 characters - if ther apperars a '0' it's the letter O here). click on submit. Finally download it.
==> http://rapidshare.de/files/28810135/Turkey2018.pdf.html

your opinions, thoughts and views on this issue. It could be reality maybe for after 12 years. Who knows ..
(a little picture of the bid)
