Okie dokie.
A USA bid would destroy an Australian bid.

I'm sure the IOC would love another Atlanta '96 instead of another Sydney 2000.

FIFA has consistantly referred to 'The Americas' - refering to North/Central/South America as 'one' is world cup finals terms. Back in the days when the rotation was just Europe then 'the Americas', the USA took 'the Americas' rotation for 1994.

Blatter/FIFA has only suggested once in the last six years that North/Central America should be considered to be anything other than part of 'the Americas'. In reality, if the 'rotation policy' is extended (rather than returning the finals to Europe) it will be Asia rather than North/Central America...

If it's Asia it will be between China and Australia. At the moment my money would be on China - but by the time the vote comes around, with the way Australia has begun to embrace football, they/we will have a great chance.

Because the odds are on that it will be in Europe in 2018. From Europe, once you take out Germany and France, the only nations with the facilities are Spain, Italy and England. Spain hosted in 82, Italy in 90, England in 66. The odds would be on the nation who haven't hosted in over 50 years getting the nod.

Of the nations who haven't hosted, and would have to build new facilities - you're looking at Holland or Russia, both possible - but the fact that England's stadiums are already in place (or under construction - whether or not we get the finals), will have an influence on any bid.

All said, I virtually guarentee that the finals will be in the USA prior to 2030 - basically the next time FIFA opens it up to 'The Americas' or 'The Rest of the World'.

Transport links of Mars are terrible, canals move too slow and to be frank, the stadiums leave a little to be desired. I say convert some of those giant craters on the moon into all seater bowls and play it there. For one thing, it's a lot easier to get there.

The main problem would be that the Moon is currently under the US flag, and that being the case it's bid may be effected by the US hosting the tournament in 2026. My solution - Colombia in 2026, a joint US/Moon bid for 2034. Problem solved.

No no sunnies. Mars has no chance at winning it if the Moon bids. Its going to be a Italian backed bid so all their fairies, sorry i meant players can do twiple quadruple swanton falls in the penalty area.

Only when dozy mongs like Lucas "I'm worth a fortune" Neill dive in and totally miss the ball to give them the chance to fall over though.

Actually, the moon can't owned by any one country, it's got the same status as international waters. However, you can buy 1 acre of the moon for youself: http://www.needapresent.com/shop/get...l.asp?PID=1138

(I happen to own a slice )

So...if ever there was a Wc on the moon, you're all more then welcome to see the game from the stadium that is built on my piece of land! Make sure you take off your shoes first though...actually, that's not such a good idea!

Mars WC in 2034 is not impossible either:

'On 4 December, 2006, NASA outlined plans for a permanent base on the Moon as part of preparation for a voyage to Mars. Construction of the base is scheduled to take approximately five years, with the first preliminary missions beginning by 2020'

Nah, the ref would spot it too easily, cus with low grav everything is in slow motion, so he could see them diving. Italians are much better suited to diving in Earth's gravity, they've perfected the technique over many years, you have to admire it, it's like an artform! Argentinians and Portugese have also picked it up pretty well!

True . . . It was an poor decision considering what was in stake at that moment but Lucas will learn a lot from it. Never give an Italian (or others) an opportunity to dive, especially in the penalty box.

Anyway back on topic . . . I hear the moon are seriously considering a bid and are about to release renders for a stadium that will truly be "the worlds best". It will have underground shuttle parking, atmosphere control, retractable craters and views of Earth to die for. The only problem is that FIFA have a one stadium per planet policy which moon officials are lobbying to change.

That's an American flag on the moon. I know they don't own it, but it certainly didn't stop them leaving their mark!

They'll need another seven bases before they can hope to host the finals.

Nah, they'll only need the one base. There is only two teams who can get there...USA and Russia!
