There is a possibility they will distribute the height increase among the floors in the top half of the concrete structure, the spire and pinnacle. This would make sense as it would better distribute the upwards flow of the tower. I also have a feeling that the ratio must be kept reasonably constant due to wind turbulence, we know the Burj is tiered to counter this effect and so I feel if only the uppermost section is stretched this could be detrimental to overall stability.

I hope nothing goes wrong.

What I'm trying to say is that no matter how tall they build it, the lower portions where the wings are will be the same as the original design, and if they increase the height, that will be accomplished by stretching it out in the portion where only the core occurs. Since we have not yet arrived at that portion, we can not make any assumptions about how high they are planning to go based on what they have built so far.

69 more concrete floors x 3 days per floor = 21st June 2007 for completion of concrete section (+/- a few days/weeks )

Hasn't it been said many times that its a 3 to 4 day cycle per floor?

I probably worded it wrong. I mean't that the concrete section would top out in June. If it is 4 days then it would be early Sept '07.

I just realized something. Many people complained (me including) that the observation deck is way to low. But if you look at the pic you can see that the observation deck is just 11 floors below the highest occupied floor.

@six543 Indeed, as I said before, they will do everything to get it the biggest for as long as possible... (thinking of terms +-900m)

For the moment, there is one new floor every 3 days, but as they reach 400m, this will slow down (due to the height)

It seems that all nosecone work has stopped around the level 42/43 area. Any ideas why this might be?
