Because from my vantage point the West Kowloon developments are about twice as far away as the buildings in TST

not always, it's just that's where the new land usually is nowadays, where the sea used to be.

Langham Place and Highcliff are both over 800 ft. tall and quite inland.

The last pic from March 6 has a nice view to HKs tallest from afar, that I've never seen before. IFC still rules, but ICC is catching up!
Btw. does anybody know what's the crane for at China Online Centre?

Hence the usually, I was actually assuming he was referring to the ICC and the IFC.

Of course, as we see redevelopments hopefully becoming more commonplace, the supertalls and fairly-talls will sprout up elsewhere.

nice, I can't believe it fits ocean terminal.

But seeing the picture, I see what they mean now, that they need a new terminal, if they're going to accommodate something like a Genesis class.

That shipping lane that passes the ICC is probably very deep. The Genesis class is just going to be a COLOSSAL cruise ship. Larger than a nimitz class aircraft carrier.

You mean, Victoria Harbour?

It's a natural deep water harbour, which is maintained at a depth of at least 11 metres through the shipping lanes.

The Freedom of the seas has a draft of 8.5m, I'm not sure about the Genesis (wikipedia lists 9m).

The Genesis is projected to be 1180 ft long, I think, which is 250 ft+ more than the Rhapsody.

Anyhow, the new terminal is supposed to be in Kai Tak, also in the Victoria Harbour.
