OMG... It's dwarfing everything around it! Finally cut the ridgeline when viewed from the Peak.

The adjacent buildings aren't short either... Can't wait to see it lit up.

I really wonder what is going to be done near/atop the West Kowloon Station. Also, do any of you know what is likely to happen to the bunch of older buildings behind Union Square... I used to see them from my window (The Waterfront T7). They're pretty unique. The roofs taper upwards.

Given the 'success' of office leasing at ICC do you think there will be significant commercial development in the adjacent plots? They really need to develop the area without podiums killing all the street life!

Soon to be redeveloped, but no schedule yet.

The whole area is known as "West Kowloon Cultural District."
The master plan is to fill the area with art galleries, museums, theatres, parks, open spaces with limited amount of residential, retail and commercial buildings on the edge of the project. The plan is under review right now, so not much going on. You can follow more information about the project at: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...tural+district

Thanks Eric.

Isn't the WKCD only the area of land south of US to Canton Road? I'm referring to the parcels of land between US and the new West Kowloon Station, the golf course (is it still there?) and the parcel behind Sorrento. There is certainly alot of potential for greenery, a few mid-tall buildings and additional cultural/leisure facilities...

I heart HK!

I thought you mean the parcel in the front.

I believe the whole block bounded by Wui Cheung Rd, Lin Cheung Rd, Austin Rd W and Canton Rd (the block houses the existing bus terminus) is going to be above station development over West Kowloon Station. The typical development we see over rail stations in HK. So retails, commercial and residential.

But I really have no idea what is going on with the block bounded by Wui Cheung Rd, Lin Cheung Rd, Canton Rd and Jordan (the block houses the existing driving range.) I think that driving range actually has a long term lease contract, something like 20 years since don't know when.

It still amazes me how "Kowloon Station" is going to be West of "West Kowloon Station"... lol

After the construction of the ICC is over, the whole Union Square development is finished right?
