Is there going to be any sort of development in the empty spaces/empty lots in the picture? It seems weird that the how West Kowloon area is sort of disjointed from the rest of Kowloon.

Also, I've always wondered what that bunch of buildings on the lower left corner are, they have fantastic views, but they look like crap (build 60s-70s). I ask my mum and she says it's supposedly a bad area with criminals, etc much like Kowloon Walled City was.

yes it is a"bad" area of kowloon, i had diner with friends in night there, and we watched lots of weird things .. we created a new slogan for hongkong... sex drugs and dim sum - hongkong hehe

btw ... whats going on on the left to the golf-square? new metro-tunnel?

yep, that's the kowloon west-rail connection (to TST) under contruction. it's quite an old pic actually because there's now a big station sitting above ground next to the golf centre.

as for other developments in that area, you can bet they'll be underway soon enough (maybe just as soon as the rail link is finished). when does big, flat real estate ever stay empty in HK? never! actually i've already seen some images of a proposal for that site between union square and the new mtr station but they were only conceptual. still, they were masssssive

they'd let out floors with the number 4 in it, so 4,14,24...etc...

My late grandparents used to live there. Those 8 buildings used to have great views and were by the sea before the reclamation. They don't look great, but I believe at least two of them are now refurbished. It also isn't a bad area with criminals because nobody hangs around there at night.

looks like 3 more floor plates to go before steel frame starts.
still only similar size to 2IFC. the next 1/4 of tower will set it apart in size.
floor plates are at 402m. core still at 420m.

Yes, that tends to happen when things are getting built. Marvellous thing isn't it, construction?
