No, God I hope not.

I think it's just been colour-coded to show the different apartments.

Of course they're not actually those colours, they simply demonstrate the different 'enclaves' within the buildings. Love the name btw!

I still can't get over the fact that they ruined this complex with Sorrento, Arch and Harbourside.

Everything about The Cullinan and ICC is superb.

I still can't get over how good those interiors are.

It's what I'd expect (although a little too glittery) from Giorgio Armani. Lets see if they can come up with something similar or better for Burj Dubai.

Grand opening of W Hong Kong Hotel
Latest component of SHKP's Kowloon Station Development

19 January 2009

Sun Hung Kai Properties' (SHKP) held an official opening for its W Hong Kong today, marking the first W establishment in the city on the West Kowloon waterfront. The hotel stands apart in the local industry with its hip style. It also reinforces Hong Kong as a major tourism centre and marks a new stage in SHKP's Kowloon Station development.

Attending the grand opening were HKSAR Financial Secretary John Tsang, SHKP Chairman Kwong Siu-hing and Vice Chairmen and Managing Directors Thomas and Raymond Kwok, MTR Corporation Chief Executive Officer C K Chow and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Chief Brand Officer Phil McAveety and Asia-Pacific President Miguel Ko. They were joined at the ceremony by over a thousand celebrities and local notables.

Thomas Kwok said, "The opening of W Hong Kong is an exciting step in this vibrant development. It follows the up-scale Elements mall next door, HarbourView Place, which encouragingly, is over 80% occupied, and The Cullinan residences that are sure to make a splash in the market. The adjacent International Commerce Centre is another resounding success, as it is already over 90% leased. When complete, ICC will be the tallest building in Hong Kong, forming a magnificent harbour gateway with IFC on the opposite shore. Our Kowloon Station development is sure to be one of the most successful integrated projects in Hong Kong, and we look forward to a West Kowloon that will be a much-coveted address for multinational and local companies alike, adding an entirely new dimension to Hong Kong as an international city."

"We are thrilled with the opening of W Hong Kong, our first W hotel in China! This hotel is truly an exciting addition to the W brand's growing international footprint in the world's most exciting cities and emerging destinations, including Barcelona, Istanbul, Athens, Koh Samui, Santiago, Dubai and Doha," said Miguel Ko, President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific. "Hong Kong is one of the world's leading financial capitals and a major business and cultural hub. Its identity as a cosmopolitan centre where east meets west is reflected in its cuisine, music and traditions, truly a great fit with what the W brand has to offer. We are excited about the tremendous opportunities and demand for the W brand in this exciting gateway city of Asia!"

W Hong Kong is the latest addition to SHKP's Kowloon Station development. It is on a prime West Kowloon waterfront site in the heart of city's vibrant new core overlooking the superb Victoria Harbour. W Hong Kong is in the new 92-story Cullinan complex just below the HarbourView Place deluxe serviced suites and next to the soon-to-be-completed International Commerce Centre, prestigious The Arch residences and million-square-foot Elements mall. The opening of W Hong Kong adds glamour to this new hub of business, entertainment and culture.

The debut W establishment in China, W Hong Kong, has a distinctive design, comfortable ambience and first-rate facilities as part of the chic W style. W Hong Kong has the city's highest hotel swimming pool, Asia's first Bliss spa, two signature restaurants, stylish guestrooms, state-of-the-art meeting and event space and the W concierge offering a unique experience. W Hong Kong is W's third property in Asia and marks W Hotels' tenth year of innovative design, trademark amenities and warm, whimsical style.

W Hong Kong offers a sensory mix of contemporary design and comfort, embracing the heritage of traditional Chinese culture. The hotel's lead designers, Yasimuchi Morita of Glamorous Corp. and Nic Graham of g+a, have created an environment that offers unique and complementary interpretations of nature. Elements of wood, stone, water, fire and metal throughout the hotel's colorful spaces and rooms seamlessly blend with the W brand's signature design elements. The hotel also showcases original works by several renowned artists including Lee Bul from Korea and Daniel Crooks and James Angus from Australia.

The HarbourView Place at Kowloon Station proves popular

31 January 2009

The HarbourView Place luxury suite hotel at Kowloon Station is a success, with current commitments to over 80% of capacity. It is next to International Commerce Centre, top luxury residences in The Cullinan and the chic W Hong Kong hotel, and it has attracted guests from around the world. A prestigious Ritz-Carlton is also under construction. Kowloon Station is a centre for international business and a new commercial focus in metropolitan Hong Kong.

Transport hub

Kowloon Station is a transport hub next to the Western Harbour Crossing with fast links to the East and West Rail lines offering unrivalled accessibility. It takes a mere 20 minutes to get to the Hong Kong International Airport, three minutes to Central by rail and 20 minutes to the Lok Ma Chau border via Route 3. Future rail lines like the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express will shorten the travel time between Hong Kong and the mainland. People will be able to reach Guangzhou in 40 minutes and Shenzhen in 18 minutes, offering the most convenience to business visitors.

International guests

Signature Homes is the luxury residential leasing arm in charge of marketing The HarbourView Place. The company's General Assistant General Manger Belinda Kuan said that The HarbourView Place appeals to multinational business guests because of its prominent location and deluxe facilities. Many guests are managers of major companies or professionals. With multinational tenants moving in to ICC, some of their senior staff have become a major market for The HarbourView Place.

Stylist elegance design

The HarbourView Place has 266 deluxe suites in different configurations to meet all needs. The design is stylish, with attention to detail and special themes to create a comfortable home-away-from-home feel. The suites are over 190 metres above ground offering 270-degree views of Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula. The breathtaking height, regal interiors and in-room provisions take luxury living a new height.

The modern Premier Presidential Suite is one example. The sitting room has rich Santos rosewood with polished chrome accents. The walnut flooring and Italian furnishings create a warm and cozy ambience. The dining area is accentuated by a designer chandelier and soft leather-padded wall to add extra class. The spacious master bedroom is bedecked with luxury fabrics for maximum comfort. The master bathroom has deluxe fittings and Italian marble and sauna facilities.

Full facilities and attentive service

The 50th floor clubhouse has an extensive range of business and lifestyle amenities like a health club, lounge, multi-purpose function room and library with Internet access, and there is a heated outdoor pool on the 76th floor for a total lifestyle. Multilingual guest relations staff provide personalized service and a professional concierge to arrange wide range of activities for guests as part of The HarbourView Place hospitality, which are all appreciated by guests.
