The photographer has some great pictures by the way! Well worth checking out his/her pictures - especially the Dragon's Back (2nd) album.

Whereas Highcliff and Summit look divine.

Does anyone know what height they're at above sea level?

And how puny does Hanoi Road, normally such a massive flat presence, look in that picture?

For HK to have the tallest now would mean it would have to build sometihing taller than BD, which would totally ruin the balance of the skyline

HK builds tall buildings out of a need (demand) for them, not just to be tall and show off, it's much more necessary than many other cities in the world.

I don't think Hong Kong has ever had or tried to build a "world's tallest building."

No, but the tallest in Asia - yes. The Bank of China Tower held that title once. But I don't think they're concerned with titles.

Skyscrapers behind the mountains, skyscrapers built on the gradient of the mountains, and highrises built on the top of the mountais. That makes HK unique!
Thanks Rachmaninov for this shot from this amazing angle

The original proposal for the Nina Tower was for it to be the "tallest building in the world".
