There is already a railway linking the two megatowers. They are only a metro station apart~ and the ride only take 3 minutes.

I think the bloke was being sarcastic - he meant 'literally' between the two towers...

trees do not ruin cities! it's always good to have some greenery in the city - I definetely would not prefer to live in a purely artificial environment

What airline did you fly for? I always fly economy, and have never been asked to not take pictures.

that's the new Cathay Pacific flat bed business class seat for long haul flight.
i think they are getting more popular in other airlines now, but since it's green, it's more likely to be cathay.

and you are not supposed to use any electronic devices, including digital camera, during take off and landing. so if you were told not to do so, it's you violating the law, not the crew being ruin. but......... i know many of us do violate the rule to take picture during that take off and landing period for some good aerial photos.

However, these buildings around it look like shit. Hong Kong has a very large number of tall buildings, but most of the buildings over 150 meters and less than 250 meters build in the last 10 years have very bad architecture.

^Just like most of the boring grey/black, steel/aluminum/concrete boxes that proliferated around the world in the '60s and '70s.

I actually like The Arch; I think it's a very interesting concept, but I suppose I agree with you, Guaporense, in the sense that the detail work could've been more carefully planned. But yeah, most of the other buildings in and around Kowloon have few redeeming qualities other than sheer massiveness (which may not be a redeeming quality anyway). That's the trouble with residential buildings; it's hard to design a unified facade around continuous balconies.

ICC, however, continues to amaze.

I don't think many people disagree with the Arch being a bit of a disappointment. Although I think it looks rather sharp at night time. The purple / gold spotlight underneath the arch looks fantastic. It gives it a cyber look.

I don't think it looks great, but it's not that bad. I think it could have been much worse.

With regards to shorter buildings, there are some real gems that are never posted much. Highcliff, Summit, One Peking Road, AIG Tower, Landmark East, Langham Place, a bunch of others that I don't know the name of, etc.

But I agree, for the most part, residential buildings could probably be better.

outside of central park, nyc is practically devoid of trees and it looks great..hk has trees in just the right places so that they dont get in the way..

by the way, the arch is a great building..looks like a giant transformer

Sorry - Shanghai World Financial Center 492 meters and not highrise, but supertall (both towers)

Sears is only 442 meters unless you include the points then it is 527 meters.

I wish that ICC was still named Union Square Seven or something like that.

Sorry -- 'points' -- My real intention is to say 'antennae'
