The design is some....so so in the first floors...but, the building looks very impresive

I must say that Kohn Pedersen Fox (out of NYC) did an excellent job with this scraper for Kong Kong. There is nothing wrong with a supertall square box, NYC use to have two of them about the same height as this monster.

This is hardly a box. It's more like a semi-symmetric straight banana peeled open on both ends. The four corners of the floor plan keep changing as you go up the building.

haha. i think 'semi-symmetric straight banana peeled open on both ends' will have to become standard skyscrapercity terminology for this kind of building. afterall, there are a few of these being built now.

ICC is brilliantly understated (well, as understated as a 500m building can be...) and it's good to see HK staying away from the rather unpleasent gold glass buildings of it's recent past.

can't wait to get into the observation floor of this place. it's gonna be insane!
