Whilst the floor plate seems rather small, at 483m I imagine the tower will have no shortage of floor space. That aside it truly is a stunning building!

The floor plates are 31-39,000 square feet. For comparison, 1WTC's are about 21-40,000 sq ft.

In comparison to buildings within Hong Kong I certainly wouldn't argue that the ICC is smaller in terms of floor plate size. It seems that as an observation, highrises/skyscrapers/supertalls in Hong Kong appear somewhat 'skinny' (there is reason for this) compared to structures in neighboring East Asia.

It also doesn't help when you just come from reading about Roppongi Hills (60,000sqm floorplate!)

For residential buildings yes. But businesses prefer larger floorplates.

I've been looking for update photos on this tower since my last update. But for some reason, photographers in HK just stopped talking photos of it. What's going on? Is it the smog?

Well we don't know if that is pollution or just fog. Anyway, I love that angle, and how the ghost silhouette of 2ifc looks from afar. Can't wait for a new supertall project for HK.

This thread really has gotten quiet lately. Here are some pictures taken with my point-and-shoot camera.

The following five pictures were taken from a moving bus coming out of the Western Harbour Crossing.

Taken from the Star Ferry, close to the Tsim Sha Tsui Pier...

This last one was taken from Lion Rock (from the Lion's head) on the warmest Christmas ever recorded in Hong Kong. It was quite humid (~35%), which doesn't help, but I think the haze in this picture is mostly pollution. As you can see the air quality really hasn't been too bad lately, but was particularly awful today. You can vaguely see the silhouette of Victoria Peak on the Island side behind the silhouette of ICC.

Well yes obviously for actual function, but I meant as in they're more aesthetically pleasing if they're more slender and therefore soaring. A fat building just doesn't look as good clearly

well for me, anything wider than the ICC is a bit too wide, but i would like more residentials to have something greater than just pencil like shapes

Two of these at the NYC/ WTC site in addition to a much taller WTC 1 would have been all we needed. This building is a near perfect piece of human engineering. I Only can hope we get on the band wagon in America and start making them this tall for once.

I like this tower very very much!!!

With the way they have been reclaiming land for the past century the inner harbor is really starting to look like a river, but it really is a harbor.
