A stormy Hong Kong. Unfortunately I couldn't get more images. The storm killed my camera for the day.

That was taken during the storm last weekend? Funny I didn't recall a major downpour, although I heard on the weather report last night parts of the New Territories got 200 mm of rain.

You are right it was on Saturday. My camera got flooded. I'm happy it's up and running again. It was really menacing. It came from the west direction and it moved so fast and it was really dark in seconds.

highrises: NY ~ 6,000, HK ~ 8,000
skyscrapers: NY: 53, HK: 54
supertalls: NY: 4, HK: 7

as you see, HK beats NY in all categories.

NY will overtake HK in the supertall category sometime this decade.

What impresses me is the number of 500 (~150 meters) footers each of these cities have. My last check on emporis (about as reliable as one can get) had HK with 206 and NYC with 199. The next city with the most is Chicago with 92.

* Just checked Emporis, HK: 206, NYC: 202, Chicago: 101 five hundred footers.
