^ Are there still plans for another super tall on top of that station?

Hong Kong seems to have really stagnated in terms of skyscraper construction :-S

Not really. There's a ****load of highrises going up in HK right now that there are no threads for. Nothing too notable like the ICC, of course.

Yup. HK is really anti-development right now. The days of supertalls in HK are OVER except one of two that were approved but not yet built...

Well, the need for supertalls is probably waning as our economy matures and growth slows - the typical economic progression model.

As landmarks go, this tower is quite lame.

It seems like HK stopped caring about architectural quality afer the Bank of China and HSBC towers were built.

I don't think architectural quality was ever that big of a concern in HK... I meant look at all the lackluster new developments. The concern is maximum floor space and maximum profit.

In my opinion, this tower has 2 main problems:
1. Those weird black areas with different sizes which look just weird.
2. The lame surrounding towers (only those glassy twins look good).

They are still working on the lighting. But I agree that it's not that pleasing, which is a big shame since there are so many buildings in Hong Kong where they did get it right and the lighting is amazing.
