That's because I enjoy watching something that strives for the sky, that transcends everything around it, that cuts the sky open, not act all cute and cuddly, that looks alive, always sharp to any event, and not as in this case some molten dead structure, flowing with what comes, trying to impose itself by size, but in reality it's just a pushover smelling of death.
What turns me on? The NYTT turns me on, the BoAt turns me on, the Burj Dubai doesn't, but it has guts.
This one is just one of those big huge guys who think they're tough with mass, but in reality they're just pansies inside

The actual buildings of The City look way too old for this kind of tower. I must confess I like it with the Gherkin though.

not a bad idea... Will, how about you put both those towers next to SwissRe, but this time, please try to get the height straight, the tower is less than 300 meters tall, not a 400m monster like you did

It is utterly loathed by most. Many were very happy when it was called in for a public inquiry recently. Atleast the Londoners can admit when they get a bad proposal.

Actually it does look worse in the city. But I feel that's because the city isn't as dense as LD is.

Really?
Do you think the King size Moscow LBT fit better?

I'm not as shocked as I anticipated.

I must say, the tower would look fantastic in the City of London. I still remember seeing Swiss Re in the distance from Oval tube station which was great, but seeing this would be simply out of this world. But then I can easily understand that it's hard for English forumers to admit it.

London is lucky to have the Shard and Bishopgate

Actually it looks ABOUT the right height. Keep in mind the concrete building infront of T42 is 100m tall, and Tower 42 tself is 183m. Put one on top of the other and the Tour Signal doesn't look much higher!

WjFox2002 :

Can anyone try to scale the tower correctly on this rendering? It seems to be 400m rather than 300m.

I don't actually mind the Tour Signal that much to be honest. I'd say my comment is more valid with the Generali Tower which is worse (IMO of course)

I rather compare it to the SwissRe, which is right next, and it appears to be twice as tall, which makes it way over 350m

you're right, the Generali tower is just crap in comparison. It's already old-fashioned..a tower from the 20th century. Nothing more.

Maybe you are right, but when you view the old renderings of Bishopsgate tower before the height decrease it looked pretty much the same height, and it is in about the same position on there

My bad, when I was living in London, I thought that Swiss Re was more than 130-140m...
