Yes, and it will be outdated in a few years. I don't like postmodernism anyway. And it will cost a maximum for maintenance

It's typically french: be spectacular without any efficiency nor keeping a good skyline.

The XXIth century Eiffel tower get dressed by Galliano. And everybody looks upskirt, crap.

What's wrong with Galliano anyway ?? :-)) Got to move on with your time!

A lot of remarkeable buildings were hated at first... Eiffeltower, centre pompidou... Look at their importance now...!

in other words a really great disign !! Will attract tourists from all over the world....

Galliano is not an architect, nothing wrong with him otherwise. I just give my opinion.
Good geometrical design goes over centuries... this one will not.

BTW, Pompidou Center or Eiffel Tower are basically geometrical designs. Minimalism, not postmodernism.

Yes i totaly agree.

If you want that "postmodernism" then do it good like the London "Shard"
because this is just a failed attempt to look modern but in fact it will be looking like a failed tent assembly!!! this sucks bigtime!!

Typical French bashing comment. If this tower had been proposed in London you would have called it genius.

i dont think they would, look at some of the London proposals receiving a bashing in the London forum. This design comes over trying to hard and i think could be detrimental to the La Defence skyline though with the amount of towers in the area it will probably be well obscured (well at least the bottom half anyway). Towers like the Tour EDF are i think far more desirable than this design.

I'm sure not. Put this thing anywhere and it will destroy any skyline.

Nice rendering. Did you do it yourself? Don't forget, however, that Tour Phare won't be standing alone above La Défense. There will be Generali which will be taller than Phare, and several towers in the 200-300m range. This rendering below gives a better idea of the impact of Tour Phare with Generali and the other towers:

well I decided to stop bashing the tower as to not annoy people, but what the heck, if others are doing it, I'll join the bashfest
this tower is a sorry attempt by a failed architect who has gone way above what he is able to do.

Well, this is my first veiw on this thread.

That is the ugliest building I have ever laid my eyes on. It's construction should be outlawed as a public service to City residents so that they don't have to go through life actually looking at it.

I must admit that the more I look at this building, the more I like it. Damn Paris, it always knew how to provoke.

At the beginning I wasn't sure if I like the back, but this pic convinced me.

Damn man this building looks like it was once a molten NY twin tower and it solidifid into an awfull form...
Or it would even be the leftovers constructed into one building from different building projecs like the grand Burj Dubai!!!!

I love it too, even with this unusual, weird top. This building is revolutionary. Don't know if I understood it properly, but the "hairs" on the roof are connected with windturbines to supply the building with energy?
Paris is incredible. I wish Amsterdam would be as innovative.

+1
In the first hours after the designation of the victorious project, I was not very convinced. But with the new renderings and models, I really liked this tower! And now, I must say that I like it much! It will be imposing and radiant... you will see.
