very interesting....more as each tower in construction in project in dubaï. a dubaï tower or today 800 meters tomorrow 900 meters and next week 1100 meters ..... but always the same design the same cladding. its time to show something very different and new ... and tour phare is really an interesting alternative to every standard skyscrapers in the world.

Some things doesnt have to be changed, we dont put fifth wheel to a car, just to make it different. The point of good architecture is to make good impression while creating liveable or workable spaces.

When I look at Burj I see nice, glossy shape, I am not a specialist, but asaic Burj's design isnt "always the same".

When I look at this... well caption of vomit touching the ground is what i see.
That supposed to be impressive? it would be funny as a work of architecture student, but concerning plans to build it could become a scar on Pariss skyline.

Shape has to evolve. We can't keep building boxes or buildings that echoes others-like the Burj Dubai-for all eternity.
And I doubt Tour Phare isn't functional,it doesn't need to look bland to be functional.Let's keep that for the 50's.

I agree with you about the first design; it was flawless in my opinion. This has evolved the wrong way, making stockier and slightly more threatening-like. I still think it's a great building though!
Final thing: this image really doesn't do it justice. B & W for a render?!?!

I like this tower, when it will be the only one like this. But when I think about "new standarts in Skyscaper Architecture..." Plese don't! More then one of a tower like this in one city would be an ugly skyline.

And yes, the "hair" on the head is silly design crap.

Wow, after reading through 45 pages and watching this tower develop, I must say that it is one of the most unique buildings that I have ever seen. The fact that it looks curvaceous and thin from one angle, grotesquely fat from another, and boxy and square from a third only adds to its appeal. I think that it is a vague and seductive tower, perfectly fitting for a vague and seductive city like Paris.

The base is so interestingly industrial, and the disconnect with the uber-deconstructionist top is mind-blowing. The fact that it will be energy efficient is also very nice, and the striking "crown" that will hide the turbines is very unique.

Overall, one of the most interesting and modern ideas I have ever seen. I can't wait for it to get started!

New rendering of Tour Phare, the design change a bit and it is far better.
