Is it me or this tower taking a very long time to construct?

Are there special challenges to this construction project? Such as it's proximity to the river? Maybe it is my imagination but this tower seems to be taking an inordinate amount of time to construct? Anyone have any thoughts or correction?

I think some other challenges, such as working with the awkward-shaped lot and getting the building to be harmonious with its neighbors (this was how the setbaack placements were determined) were bigger challenges... I am not a professional on this however, unlike some of the other guys here.

But honestly, this project actually seems to be moving better and faster than usual, if I compare it to the other U/C icons like Waterview, Spire, and even Block 37, which has had leasing and contracting problems for many years now.

challenges?

just huge floorplates.
those first 20 floors had huge floorplates.
the final setback they are now working on.. the slender one, still seems 30% larger than Waterview.
big concrete plates.. lots of concrete & forms... it takes time.

I've been wholly impressed with the speed of installing the cladding on this one. The cladding is almost neck and neck with the floor count. When it's topped out I'm expecting it will look nearly complete rather than the giant, partially clad, skeletal behemoth that we see with most projects. I thought that the cladding to floor ratio was exceptionally good with the SWFC, but this one blows it out of the water, even the elevator strip has been cladded.

The shot with the Trump Tower (in the background) is just a couple of frames long but, here it is!

Yeah that is an old pic. I think the huge room on the left side is a ballroom and the chandelier is already installed there.
