another amazingly ignorant comment by you. the inside of this building is beautiful and very elegant. I've been inside several times now and have stayed in a hotel room.

From last weekend

I really disagree about this being an ugly building...like other buildings in Chicago (and the skyline as a whole) this is an interesting one because it looks quite different from many different angles. Sometimes it looks wide and imposing, other times it looks very skinny. No to mention that it's perfectly placed on the river.

You must think the Parthenon, the Taj Mahal, the Lincoln Memorial, the US Capitol building are cheesy ... because they all have lots of marble.

T/O

Well, Trump is quite near topping out.
I have a question, please take me seriously here.
Now, I remember at some point during the design phases, the tower was supposed to surpass Sears in height, but was later scaled to the current one.

So, considering the pressure from the Spire, as well as Trump's notorious ego and business aggressiveness, is there a chance the TT will end up taller than Sears? As far as I know, the last 2 floors have a height of 5m each, and the spire will bring the "official" height within 90 feet of Sears. So what's to stop some Plan B that would adjust the top 2 to being 6m each and then adding a few feet to the spire? It seems to me to be fully in character of Trump to pull a stunt like this, if anything to brag about having "the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere".

Now, I'm not from Chicago (Obviously, as indicated in the user name) and I don't know quite how their city permits process works. We all know about the height war between Chrysler and Rockefeller back in the 30s, as well as the secret height of the Burj Dubai. Would the City of Chicago even entertain such a thing?

I only ask out of curiosity.

I'm sure Mayor Daley wouldn't have minded if Trump was taller than Sears via spire because the mayor was the one who had requested that Trump Tower have a spire. After the mayor requested it, Trump added the spire.

At this point though, I don't know if it is possible that Trump could put on a taller spire to surpass sears without us knowing about it. I would think some type of official request for permits or whatever, would have been exposed and made public by now. Therefore, I find it highly unlikely. Trump flirted with the idea of a taller spire but decided against it. He asked people who had already purchased condos what they thought of the idea and a small minority said they didn't like the idea. And that was that.

woah, I've obviously not been keeping up to date with this one, weren't that high last time I was on that last shot though, god knows why because it makes no sense but when I first saw it, it reminded me of a WTC tower, no idea why.. just had that same effect I guess

i count 91 floors + 1 in core, thus 92 floors. I think shes topped out?
now it will just jump to 92fl/345m , then construction will start on the circular turret which will reach another 12m to 357m.
great piccies
