Trump Tower: Getting near the top

In case you've been craning your neck lately and wondering when the enormous Trump Tower would stop plowing into the sky, the moment is nigh.

The concrete superstructure of the 92-story hotel and condominium tower will be completed by the end of August, reports a spokeswoman for the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the skyscraper's architects and engineers.

Even then, Trump Trump will continue its upward path with the addition of a spire that will bring its total height to 1,362 feet--about 90 feet shorter than Sears Tower, which remains the nation's tallest building.

No formal "topping out" ceremony has been scheduled yet, the Skidmore spokeswoman says. The tower is scheduled to be completed next year.

I recently ate at the restaurant inside. I think its so cool how they have parts of the building operational while it's still U/C. Very fun to watch the cranes and lifts in operation while eating a first class meal!

That's amazing. How was the food, by the way?

looking at other photos from street level the tower don't look that tall. But from whole view of the city it shows just how much it sticks out of skyline.

Maybe it was an acquisition in the script hehe. I was able to see the movie today, and yes Trump Tower is the setting for the climactic scene. Hmm maybe in the next Batman movie, they'll feature the Chicago Spire

In Batman Begins, the Wayne Building was actually Chicago's Board of Trade Building, which was actually still in quite a few scenes in the Dark Knight.

Wayne Tower in the Dark Night was actually the Daley Center here in Chicago.
