It's going up so fast, I wonder if something special is being planned for Labor Day.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a winner!

You have a genuine Chicago bus visible on the street, the top of the crane is not cropped and the tower is perfectly centered with excellent lighting and the shadows are not too dark.

Is it just me, or are Chicago's empty gaps a lot more noticeable in picture than when you are actually on the street?

Some photographers are sophisticated enough to find and exploit them. 1/2 a block E or W and this gap is filled. You can learn a lot about photography watching these guys.

I remember I took that same composition at night a few months ago. A great shot of the old and new.

That photo doesn't capture the whole scene, between those buildings is lower Carol street
(Aug 12)

the photo is taken from a bridge over the rail line that runs under the Merchandise mart, which has an elevated track ( and station ) above it. ( where the black car is parked )

Lower Carol as it approaches lower Wabash

Lower Wabash & Trump Tower ( looking at Lower Carol in the background )

Breakfast at Lower Wabash & Lower Kinzie
