I'm sorry that S.O.M. DIDN'T take into consideration the bulky view of the building from the East; this behemoth is unnecessarily overbearing for its river-side site. Sadly, the most prominent view for most drivers is from Lake Shore Drive (at the east)… until the Chicago Spire is completed and becomes a major distraction from looking down the river.

The view of its slenderness from the south is great...

BTW, the crane was removed in the middle of the night for 'additional safety measures'… I’m sorry I missed seeing the process of removing a crane from such a great height.

densetsu-they would be a safety requirment due to aircraft regulations. since it is higher then the roofline. even if it is temporary.

So what is the cost for even the cheapest studio residence there?

It seem to me like skyscraper living is for the rich only.

Condos currently available run from $9.6 million (6,800 sq ft) to $2,200 a month rental for a 580sq ft studio.

Happy house hunting!

Wow, this building is looking awesome. Adrian Smith never ceases to amaze. One day, I hope that I can work for someone like him, as an engineer, designing these amazing buildings.
Has anyone noticed that the model in google earth is really out of date?

until the economy gets much better there's quite a little chance they continue again, but This tower will not slow down with any economic problems for sure. (nearly finished anyway)

Someone explained it a couple of pages earlier; it's due to security reasons. And I don't mean terrorism. Look it up.

Yeah thats just about what I thought but what is the point of cheering on some building that you will probably never be able to afford to step foot in anyways?
