Last week, I was lucky enough to be treated to dinner at Sixteen, the restaurant at Chicago's Trump International Hotel & Tower. This officially marks the most expensive meal of my life, though ultimately I wasn't paying for it (phew). Sixteen opened fairly recently last spring, to much hoopla and fanfare as is appropriate for a Trump property.

That's the problem you have coming in to Chicago by train. Sears looks huge, but you can barely see Trump. That’s probably the worst angle there is. I was in Chicago last June when it was still under construction and you could barely see the top from there, I was forced to dodge people walking in the aisle while squatting on the floor of the train just to get a glance of Trump out the window.

What did you have for dinner and how much did it cost? Was the meal good? Was it worth it?

It will change when Chicago Spire will be completed, from that angle, S.T. and C.S. will look about the same size, on one side and another of the skyline...

Sixteen is about 30 to 50 bucks per plate and it's pretty good but not great. There are several other restaurants with better food but few with as great of a dining room. The ceiling must be at least 30' high and all glass overlooking some classic buildings in the area.

I ate there on opening night last year. it was decent but not worth it IMO. dinner for 4 was around $400 I think.

Nice picture! Yes, one day in the future. The Spire would be so large you could probably see it just like that, from there.

Yikes that a steep bill. are reservations mandatory, or can you just walk in?
