How much left of the spire to complete?

Exterior elevator would be removed after the finish of the spire, probably...

As we approach the completition of this great building, I'm starting to feel a bit melancholic as well, for we no longer will have this thread which I enjoy I lot.

Anyway, this process has been very illustrative.

now spire has bulked out abit. looks like it should be about 1/3 Taller.

That depends on the angle from which you are viewing it. From some angles it looks very thin, and from others it looks bulkier. Overall I think they've gotten this one pretty much right.
