It really does look great. Thats what makes american architecture so great, dubai slacks with their garages and it makes their buildings look cheap along with their prefabbed materials.

Oh so America doesn't have ugly garages? Why are you people so harsh on Dubai which is now still a big construction site, and bring this up in posts totally unrelated to Dubai? Why not wait patiently for a few years when this wave of big constructions come to an end? This just shows that you people are arrogant and insecure and don't want any other place to catch attention.

You have to admit that Dubai has adopted the Las Vegas (or American suburban) style of parking. Parking facilities in Dubai are mostly detached pre-fab concrete above ground structures, set in back of the skyscrapers - not integrated into the towers themselves such as with Trump). They usually aren't clad and don't match the buildings they are associated with. Pretty much all the large towers on Sheikh Zayed Road follow this model. It renders these areas unwalkable. But then, the climate in Dubai isn't conducive to milling around outside anyway, so it is a practical solution.

Now from lowest open air space rather than street level! Trump Tower height now 423 meters!

Uh, does that mean that Hancock is going to gain height as well? It's lowest open air space is 1-2 stories below ground on the plaza.

that means that most towers will be taller by one or two more stories depending on the number of underground carparks they have

Definately my favoutite building of the year.

I think that the Shanghai World Financial Center would be a worthy candidate though

I think SWFC won CTBUH awards last year. Greenland Plaza is lesser known since its in Nanjing. But that one is very worthy. As is Trumps.
