I just noticed that the consturction is taking too long, I've been in Chicago last Octomber and from that time till now, the building grow very slowly. Is the developer finishes the lower floor prior adding more floors in the building?

Thanks Kngkyle for the link, and thanks CULWULLA for the great diagram. These new towers (Trump and otherwise) really add to the already great skyline. With the Spire being approved now, the future looks bright.

they are currently working on a transfer floor. The transfer floor was reached on about 3-28 and it was reported that it would take 61 days to complete. Therefore, Trump should start rising again at the end of this month or the beginning of June.

Transfer floors are where the setbacks are. The core shrinks and the weight has to be redistributed, hence the tons of re-bar. You can see how complex it is in some of the photos posted by Hydrogen.

can they use a transfer slab instead of using tons or rebar....or would that add to much weight?

I heard a story that Trump originally wanted to make this thing higher than Sears and due to 9/11 fears, he was talked out of it. Is that true? If so, he's really got to be pissed about the Spire now.
