Well I have not seen the other designs you speak of, so I cant form an opinion. But I love the current design and think it will fit in nicely. And like I said below, there are many projects going up right now that are competing for just as much attention as Trump is. If you hate Trump for these reasons, you must really hate the Spire.

Much earlier covering the columns than I would have ever expected.

They must be really serious about opening the hotel component by November.

Although the Spa component will not be finished until late February or early March.

That would explain the relatively slow construction, especially before. Some workers are porbably devoted for interiors of the hotel.

Oh my gosh!

That's hilarious! Only a select few could look at that beautiful column and see a dent, and even fewer would point it out. But that's why SSC has so many members!
