Tall for Toronto standards. Some pictures of hoarding would be appreciated.

Downtown's moving south of Union Station more and more... and Maple Leaf Square further reinforces that:

Large grocery store (and some other good stuff) at the base:

Advertising just east of where it will be located: (I can't wait till that big blank back wall of 18 Yonge is covered when something else is built up against it!)

(I do not take credit for either of these images)

Htel Le Germain to Open at Maple Leaf Square

TORONTO, Dec. 18 /CNW/ - Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), The
Cadillac Fairview Corp. Ltd. and Lanterra Developments announced today that
Groupe Germain will open one of its signature boutique-hotels at Maple Leaf
Square.

Known as Htel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square, it will be the company's
second boutique-hotel in Toronto. Groupe Germain also has properties in
Montral, Qubec and Old-Qubec.

Located adjacent to Air Canada Centre, one of the busiest entertainment
venues in the world, Maple Leaf Square is a $450 million privately-funded
sports and entertainment development. It supports Toronto's city building
initiative, revitalization of the railroad lands, and complements the
waterfront development. Maple Leaf Square received the "2006 Community of the
Year Award" from the Greater Toronto Home Builders Association.

A mere seven minute walk to the heart of Toronto's financial district,
Htel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square will be situated close to many city tourist
attractions and will have direct underground access to public transportation.
"Maple Leaf Square is excited to partner with Groupe Germain, Canada's
leading brand of luxury boutique-hotels," said Richard Peddie, president and
chief executive officer for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. "Our
organizations share a common vision of making Htel Le Germain a focal point
for Maple Leaf Square.

Htel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square will support serving the needs of a
growing waterfront district, creating another stage to attract more visitors
to Toronto and injecting growth in economic development," Peddie added.
"We are honoured to be working on this important development project with
Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, an organization that is a treasured piece
of Canadian heritage," said Christiane Germain, co-president Groupe Germain.
"The new property at Maple Leaf Square represents an important step in Groupe
Germain's growth in the hospitality industry."

Offering an inviting atmosphere and exceptional service all contributing
to a unique experience for guests, the eight storey boutique-hotel will have
171 guest rooms, 5,000 square feet of meeting space, 8,000 square feet of
fitness facilities and a 2,000 square foot hotel caf. The interior will
mirror the inspiring design that has become Groupe Germain's trademark. Guests
will also notice subtle features reflective of great sports and entertainment
moments of the past from Maple Leaf Gardens and Air Canada Centre.
With care and attention to detail, rooms will be attractively designed to
meet the needs of the discerning business or leisure traveler, as well as the
discriminating sports fan with features that include state-of-the-art stereos,
flat screen televisions, luxurious toiletry products, Egyptian cotton linens,
pivoting worktables and ergonomic chairs.

Guests staying at the Htel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square can take
advantage of the development's additional amenities including two destination
restaurants operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment - a five star fine
dining facility and a world class hi-tech sports restaurant and bar. Guests
will also have access to the many world-class events such as Toronto Maple
Leafs and Toronto Raptors games and popular concerts hosted at Air Canada
Centre.

Groupe Germain is a family-run company based in Qubec City that
develops, owns and operates distinguished hotel properties: Htel Le Germain
Toronto, Htel Le Germain Montral, Htel Dominion 1912, Htel Germain des
Prs. The company is well known for the impeccable hospitality and style it
brings to its boutique-style hotels. For more information, visit
