I love Burj Dubai, CS, Index, etc....

This looks like a crappy computer generated building you would see in a future city on Star Trek.
Funny how opinions work. I think this is one of the best designs in Dubai, save for the Burj Al Alam. And it looks like a computer generated building right now because um, IT IS. Wait until you see it rise.

Anyways, the design itself is downright metal as ****. I mean seriously, huge ass flames licking up into the sky? How awesome is that? Good call on the sea monster tentacles. I can definitely see that, and it's pretty freakin brutal as well.

because if this is the tallest out of all of them in the picture, then it will be around 515m, Tier 12 of the Burj Dubai is 507.30m

I think we will have to wait another 2 years until things are really taking shape, there still isn't any infrastructure finished in The Lagoons, not even roads.

The models should be true to scale because they were displayed on the stand of the Canadian company that did the wind tunnel testing on them both. However he didn't considered the perspective when he draw the line, so the model shows a taller height.

According to both AMEInfo and Zawya, the construction of the Dubai Towers commenced today.

Construction of spectacular Dubai Towers, AMEInfo, 22 June 2008

Construction of Spectacular Dubai Towers - Dubai Commences at 'The Lagoons', Zawya, 22 June 2008

Also, the image in the AMEInfo article looks as though the design of the Dubai Towers have been slightly altered.

Shouldn't this thread be changed to "U/C"?

They are waiting for pictorial evidence. Most likely the "ground breaking" referenced in the article was just ceremonial.
