The model looks like giant icicles.

If the core is vertical the elevator shaft must come quite close to the facade at some points.

The facade and colour on the model is very different from the rendering.

Bad model.

The elevator ride alone would be a hell of a experience.

Awesome towers. Tacky yet classy.

And as you can see form the model, the cones on top are just for decorative pourposes and don't have occupied space.

Nice models, these towers could sure have the name Dancing Towers as well. Brilliant design, one of my favorite designs among the current projects in the world for sure!

Can't you guys take your eyes off of the shiny towers for a second and look at the rest of the development?!!?? IT SUCKS! I'll admit, the towers are awesome, but each one of these new Dubai developments is a massacre of urban planning. Take your suburban USA strip mall, put some twisty towers on top and you've got Dubai. IMO, Dubai may get the world's best skyline, but it's also a candidate for the world's worst city. Each new project ignores all others around it and doesn't even take into account that it forms a part of a city. Dubai is pretty much turning into a strip of gated communties for the rich. I can't believe all of you are so easily swayed by anything that is shiny and tall.

why not allowing these masterplanned communities to happen, in fact a live and work environment is part of most of the city's projects.

projects like this, business bay and DIFC and Burj Dubai will eventually merge into one Business district, the same goes for the Marina and JLT.

it makes the whole planning of the city much easier, and is the best way to attract investors, e.g selling plots to them and the master developer takes care of the rest.
apart from that this is the fastest way of building in such a massive scale needed according to the demand in Dubai.

what has been missed in the past year is the urban infrastructure to connect the masterplanned developments, but this is also underway as of now.
